The terms Afro-Native, Black Indian, biracial, mixed race, mulatto and multiracial have all been used to refer to those of blended African American and Native American heritages.

The designations may fall in and out of favor but the bloodlines that they refer to have existed for several hundred years in America

 The award winning film "American Red and Black" (39:00, Directed by Alicia Woods) explores this often overlooked cultural heritage and history.
